Dr. Mokgokong is a co-founder and Executive Chairman of Community Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd., a well renowned business figure in South Africa and globally with widespread experience in Healthcare, Academia and Commerce. She is recognised as a Senior Director of Companies on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange as she serves on five listed companies namely: Non-executive Chairman of AfroCentric Investment Corporation, Rebosis Property Fund Limited and Jasco Electronics Holdings Limited and Non-executive Director of Companies and first female Director of Shoprite Holdings Limited, the largest retailer in Africa, as well as Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer. She also serves on numerous non-listed entities. She has received numerous local and international accolades as a Community and Business leader, including SA Businesswoman of the Year (1999) and one of the Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World (1998).
She has served in numerous councils of academic institutions as well as civil society commissions such as The Independent Commission for Remuneration of Public Office Bearers, where she was appointed as Deputy Chairperson by the former President Mr. Thabo Mbeki (from 2004 – 2009); She was also a Commissioner of the Interim National Defence Force Commission (SANDF) (from 2009 – 2013). She is a social activist and passionate about women empowerment transformation to bring about equality in the economy of South Africa. She was recently appointed Honorary Consul General of Iceland in Pretoria (2017).

Joe Madungandaba studied Commerce at the University of the North, Cranfield School of Management (UK) and at the Wharton Business School (USA). He is a member of the Institute of Commercial and Financial Accountants of Southern Africa and is a certified public accountant and tax practitioner. He is the Group CEO of Community Investment Holdings and is appointed on all its subsidiaries’ Boards.
He is also a Non-executive Director of public listed companies Distell, Jasco and AfroCentric.

AHMED BANDERKER

Ahmed Banderker, a chartered accountant, completed his articles at Fisher Hoffman PKF. Thereafter, he joined Sail Group Ltd as Finance Manager. He then joined Shell in 2003. He fulfilled various roles within Shell, which saw him leading a diverse team across different countries. In addition, he was also appointed as a board member and shareholder representative in Shell’s subsidiary companies in South Africa.
Ahmed was appointed to the Sanlam Group in November 2006 as Head of Finance at Glacier before taking on the role of Chief Executive: Strategic Business Development in 2011. In April 2019, he was appointed to serve as the Group CEO

HANNES BOONZAAIER

After qualifying as a CA, Hannes joined a corporate finance team at KPMG, where he gained valuable experience in due diligences, valuations and commercial structuring of companies. He joined Medscheme 15 years ago as a financial manager upon which he progressed to manage various client business units involved in scheme finance, broker commission and claims processing. Shortly after the listing of the Group in 2009, he headed up the Group Finance unit which has since expanded due to the group diversification and changes in shareholding structures. As a result of his extensive knowledge of the business, he was appointed AfroCentric Group CFO in August 2015.

WILLEM BRITZ

As one of the founding members of WAD Holdings, Willem Britz is an admitted attorney with a Bachelor of Commerce and BProc degrees. With 10 years’ experience in commercial law, he enjoyed working in an entrepreneurial environment and acted as an advisor in the medical aid industry. Realising the opportunities in the healthcare industry, WAD Holdings directors started Pharmacy Direct. Today, Willem is a successful entrepreneur who has been involved in numerous business ventures ranging from mining to pharmaceutical, financial services, property and game breeding over the past 12 years. Willem joined the AfroCentric Group in August 2015.

GARY ALLEN

Gary Allen is currently a Senior Executive within Sanlam Corporate. He currently leads various Sanlam Health businesses and previously performed a variety of CEO roles including CEO of Sanlam Reality, Sanlam Fiduciary Services and Marlborough Stirling South Africa. Gary started his career at Accenture where he was a Director.

Nkateko Munisi is a qualified and practising medical doctor with extensive experience in the medical industry, having served on numerous committees, boards and panels throughout his career. He is the chairperson of the medical panel at the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund and the RH Managers’ advisory committee. He is also a representative in the Public Investment Corporation’s healthcare infrastructure fund.
Nkateko is a director and the current chairperson of Golden Pond Trading 175 (Pty) Ltd, a joint venture company between SGH and Community Healthcare Holdings Proprietary Limited, who are material shareholders in AfroCentric.

SELLO ERNEST MMAKAU

Sello has a Master’s of Business Leadership degree, Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Commerce degree with 19 years’ experience in the IT and ICT industry, in both the public and private sectors. A former IT Director of Projects at National Department of Health, he designed and implemented key projects such as Electronic Health Information System (EHIS) for Health Centres, Electronic Document Management Systems and a new Data Centre for all GP facilities. Sello joined Sasol where he led amongst others the implementation of Strategic projects such as Information Leadership Excellence Program (ILEP) re-engineering processes using COBIT Framework, Project Management System, and Review of Governance Structures as part of the Sasol Operating Model and SAP upgrade. After a successful tenure at Sasol, he was headhunted to lead Turnaround Technology Strategy at National Department of Home Affairs. As Chief Information Officer of Home Affairs, he played a critical role in turning around the department using technology by digitising, automating key processes and implemented critical projects including the designed and successful implementation of the 1st National Smart ID Card. He also implemented Home Affairs’ online biometric verification system integration with SA Banks and SABRIC which drastically reduced identity fraud, saving millions, increased efficiencies and improved turnaround time.
Sello joined Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) as the company’s first Group Chief Information Officer. He crafted ACSA Digital Strategy and implemented a number of customer facing digital and self-services solutions in ACSA international airports including Passenger Experience like self-services Kiosks, Flight Display Information System, Cloud technologies, Business Intelligence and Analytics, Mobile Apps (for leaves, budgets, PO’s approvals), self-boarding gates piloted at Cape Town International Airport, digitized HR and some of finance processes. He joined Financial Services Sector Conductor Authority (FSCA) as Chief Information Officer where he developed its Digital Strategy.
Sello won a number of awards including the South African Visionary Chief Information Officer of the year by the Institute of Information Technology Professionals SA (IITPSA), Gartner, IT Web and GIBS in 2012.

SHIRLEY ZINN

Prof Zinn is the former Group Head of Human resources at Woolworths Holdings Limited and former Human Resources Director of Standard Bank South Africa and Deputy Global Head of Human Resources for the Standard Bank Group (portfolio included BBBEE and CSI) and has since registered her own company: Shirley Zinn Consulting that provides consulting and advisory services in HR, Transformation, Leadership and Education. Prior to this she was the Group Executive HR at Nedbank. Before this, she was the General Manager for Human Resources at the South African Revenue Service (SARS). She is also an Extraordinary Professor at the University of Pretoria’s Department of Human Resource Management and is the Past President of the Institute for People Management South Africa. She started her career as a secondary school teacher of English, then moved to the University of the Western Cape where she lectured in Teacher Education. After this, she served at Southern Life as Training Manager and then moved to the Department of Public Service and Administration’s: South African Management Development Institute, in Pretoria as Director. She held the position of Executive Employment Equity at Computer Configurations Holdings. Before her appointment at SARS, she filled the role of Regional Human Resources Director for Middle East and Africa for Reckitt Benckiser, a global company listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Prof Zinn holds a BA (University of Western Cape), Post Graduate Higher Diploma in Education (University of the Western Cape); B.Ed. Honours (UNISA); M.Ed. (University of the Western Cape); Ed.M. (Harvard); and Doctorate in Education (Harvard).

BRUNO FERNANDES

Mr Fernandes holds a B.Comm (Accountancy), B.Acc (Accountancy Honours) and B.Com Honours (Investment Management) Cum Laude and is CA (SA). Bruno completed his accounting articles of Clerkship in audit at KPMG in 1995 and also spent two years at KPMG Corporate Finance in Johannesburg and Manchester (UK). He is currently consulting privately. Bruno was a former Investment Banking Vice-President at Nedbank Investment Bank Limited and former Principal at Nedbank Limited. He was the former Group Operations Risk Review Manager at Balfour Beatty Limited in UK, London. Bruno has held memberships at the Chartered Institute of Business Management (ACIBM), Investment Analysts Society of SA (IAS), the Golden Key International Honour Society, the Public Accountants’ & Auditors’ Board (PAAB), the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) and The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

Ms le Roux, a Chartered Accountant, holds a BComp (Hons) and a Bachelors in Accounting. He first worked as a GM: Broker Services in Sanlam.
